Associate DirectorThe Associate Director at UI Community HomeCare provides leadership for all aspects of operations for both the Infusion Therapy and Durable Medical Equipment service lines.

Infusion NursesUI Community HomeCare's Infusion Nursing staff provides expert teaching skills to prepare patients to care for themselves at home. The Infusion Nurses also provide direct care in patients homes for those therapies that require a nurse to administer the drug. Infusion Nurses at UI Community HomeCare are experienced and certified in a variety of specialties including oncology, pediatrics, and home infusion therapy.

Pharmacy DepartmentUI Community HomeCare's Pharmacist provides a plan of care based on a patients individual needs and the home infusion therapy their physician has prescribed. The pharmacist will monitor the patients response to therapy and communicate with physicians as needed. Pharmacy Technicians prepare patient medications in a sterile environment as directed by the Pharmacist and prescribed by the physician.

Transition Care CoordinatorThe Transition Care Coordinator (TCC) is a UI HomeCare staff member that is located at UI Hospitals. The TCC facilitates patient discharges by acting as a liaison between the hospital and UI HomeCare’s Intake Department. The TCC will collaborate with physicians, patients and family to determine specific discharge needs of the patient returning home with medical care.

Pharmacy TechnicianThe Pharmacy Technicians prepare patient medications in a sterile environment as directed by the pharmacist and prescribed by the physician.

Insurance CoordinatorThe Insurance Coordinator at UI Community HomeCare is specially trained to verify benefits for home infusion therapy and ensures an efficient and effective system to authorize home infusion therapy services. The Insurance Coordinator communicates with case managers concerning a patient's status, and serves as a consultant to referral sources and patients on payment and coverage issues.

ReimbursementReimbursement Coordinators at UI Community HomeCare are specially trained in billing procedures for home infusion therapy and durable medical equipment. They will provide follow-up to make sure that everything runs smoothly once a bill is sent out. Patients can call the Reimbursement Coordinators to answer any questions they may have regarding billing and payment for their home infusion therapy.

Clinical CoordinatorThe Clinical Coordinator are the first people to accept patient referrals for home infusion therapy. They plan the patients transition from hospital or clinic to home and make sure needs are met. They maintain contracts with nursing agencies across the state of Iowa and work closely with the UICH Pharmacist, infusion nurses and inventory clerk to assure services are delivered when and where they are needed.

DME Client Care CoordinatorClient Care Coordinators accept referrals and manage services for durable medical equipment and oxygen at UI Community HomeCare. The Client Care Coordinators are knowledgeable on insurance coverage guidelines for durable medical equipment and provide guidance to referral sources and patients.

Warehouse/DeliveryThe UI Community HomeCare Warehouse Manager coordinates the distribution of all patient supplies and medications. The manager, while assuring adequate inventory levels, maintains all delivery records and also maintains requests from patients, families, hospital staff, and vendors concerning home care services.

Warehouse and Delivery StaffUI Community HomeCare Warehouse and Delivery Staff will greet you at your door when they deliver patient supplies and medications to the home. They also maintain requests from patients, families, hospital staff and vendors concerning home care services.

Information Technology ManagerThe Information Technology Manager at UI Community HomeCare is responsible for supporting the mission and goals of UICH by developing information architecture, strategies, policies, and computer system requirements. The manager introduces and maintains information technology, develops information solutions and integrates and protects computer information. UI Community HomeCare staff members are directed by the Information Technology Manager in all aspects of computer operation.

Director of RetailThe Director of Retail at UI Community HomeCare is responsible for managing day-to-day retail operations and oversight for the Home Sleep Services division, assuring that excellent service is being delivered to all of our patients.

Inventory ClerksInventory Clerks call patients to ensure they have all of the home infusion supplies they have been prescribed. They make sure patients are using supplies correctly and have adequate quantities on hand.

Billing Support SpecialistThe Billing Support Specialist at UI Community HomeCare is specially trained to generate physician orders and supporting documentation required to bill services based on payer requirements. The Billing Support Specialist also contacts durable medical equipment patients to provide guidance on medical appointments or tests. This help assures that patients will meet their insurance company guidelines for their therapy.

Respiratory TherapistOur Respiratory Therapists work one on one with patients that already have sleep apnea or have just been diagnosed with sleep apnea. They ensure you get the equipment prescribed by your physician, the right mask with a proper fit and seal, and answer any questions you may have in regards to your sleep therapy.
